There’s nothing more beneficial to a patient’s skin than a complete daily system that helps correct visible signs of aging while protecting against future damage. Patients can elevate their skincare routine using effective medical-grade products to cleanse, exfoliate, tone and treat to restore and sustain a more youthful complexion.
In this article, we’ll walk through the Vita Method, a five-step regimen with a medley of powerful active ingredients to improve skin brightness, vitality and overall resilience. Patients will notice more youthful and vibrant skin in two weeks or less.
The Vita Method
Each product in the Vita Method is packed with potent antioxidants, vitamins and skin nutrients that synergistically deliver the essentials for healthy, glowing skin. This regimen soothes, refreshes, hydrates, exfoliates, rejuvenates and smooths, making skin brighter and firmer while supporting a healthy barrier and protecting against free radicals and environmental aging damage.
Step 1: Cleanse
Patients should start their morning and evening skincare routine with a gentle, hydrating and effective cleanser to remove the buildup of oils and impurities without stripping or irritating the skin. Suggest cleansers without sulfates and alcohols, as these ingredients can lead to sensitivity and irritation. Cleansers should hydrate and balance the skin surface without disrupting the skin’s natural barrier, helping to sustain hydration and leave the skin feeling balanced and supple.
We recommend starting the Vita Method with Chamomile Facial Cleanser, a hydrating, sulfate- and alcohol-free cleanser that clears all ultrafine pollutants and particles greater than PM0.1 size from the skin. Chamomile Facial Cleanser is formulated with gentle plant-based surfactants, red and brown algae extracts, ginger root and chamomile to hydrate, soften and soothe, leaving skin clean and refreshed.
Step 2: Exfoliate
After cleansing, patients should exfoliate in the evening to make skin smoother and brighter for a more vibrant complexion. Exfoliation, or the removal of dead skin cells and debris, can be done in two ways: Chemical exfoliation uses acids such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or fruit enzymes to dissolve the outermost layer of dead skin, while physical exfoliation uses abrasive particles to polish the skin surface.
An effective exfoliating product removes dead, dull and stained skin cells to reveal younger, healthier skin underneath, encouraging cell turnover in the process. This can help brighten, reduce blemishes and increase the penetration of other products in a regimen. However, an exfoliating product should never irritate or damage the skin.
In the Vita Method, step two is to exfoliate the skin using Vita-B Enzyme Polish, a dual-action exfoliator that combines pomegranate and papaya fruit enzymes with micro polishing spheres. This exfoliating cream gently clears dead cells and debris from the surface. Niacinamide (vitamin B3) and panthenol (vitamin B5) restore firmness and vitality to the skin by repairing the skin barrier, reducing inflammation and providing superior moisturization, and soothing botanical oils create a visibly smoother appearance.
After cleansing, patients should gently massage Vita-B Enzyme Polish onto damp skin using a circular motion for 1 to 3 minutes. Allow to sit for 10 minutes, and then rinse with lukewarm water. When starting, exfoliate only 2-3 times per week. Patients should work up to one application per day at most, as tolerated.
Step 3: Tone
After cleansing and exfoliating, the remaining steps in the Vita Method restore nutrients, antioxidants, and hydration to enhance and protect youthful skin.
Tone using Vita-C Peptide Spray, which provides a burst of skin super-ingredient vitamin C. An ideal toning product like Vita-C Peptide Spray helps rehydrate the skin, balance the skin barrier and prep the skin for additional products.
Vita-C Peptide Spray is a refreshing moisturizing mist that contains firming peptides to boost photoprotection and prevent premature signs of aging and dehydration. It is formulated with magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (MAP), a stable form of vitamin C that not only protects against environmental free radical damage, but also provides moisturization, firming and brightening benefits to the skin. MAP also significantly reduces hyperpigmentation and supports healthy collagen, assisting in skin firmness and hydration.
Encourage patients to hold Vita-C Peptide Spray six inches from the face and pump 3-4 times. May be repeated as needed, including over makeup.
Step 4: Treat
Serums are packed with nutrients and antioxidants that help restore, replenish and protect overall skin health. Serums vary significantly in their active ingredients and concentrations, and pairing a serum with the right regimen will further enhance its results.
Vita Soothe, a lipid-based serum that replenishes and fortifies the skin barrier is the fourth step of the Vita Method. Vita Soothe contains bioidentical phospholipids and glycolipids, like the oils on a baby’s skin, to soften and deeply hydrate by preventing trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL). The serum nourishes with vitamins E and F, two antioxidants and nutrients that help preserve skin health and protect from environmental damage. Vita Soothe also features Liphochroman®, the only triple-action antioxidant with coverage against all three classes of free radicals (oxygen, nitrogen and carbon) and the strongest antioxidant on the market today, protecting skin from environmental damage and visibly improving signs of aging.
Using Vita Soothe in the Vita Method regimen for a 14-day period helps hydrate, soften, smooth, soothe and brighten skin, leaving it feeling healthy. Vita Soothe helps impart a silky texture, improves the appearance of dull skin, protects the skin barrier and promotes a radiant complexion and balanced tone. For instant glow and visibly smoother, plumper skin, apply Vita Soothe to the neck and chest twice daily.
Step 5: Mask
Our Hydra-Firm Gel Mask is a hydrating rose gel mask with peptides and marine algae, clinically proven to visibly improve skin elasticity and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Its natural pink color comes from the strawberry seed extract used to strengthen the skin barrier. Hydra-Firm Gel Mask provides intense and penetrating hydration, and it also helps repair skin overnight, supports healthy collagen production while patients sleep and boosts the effects of all preceding products in the regimen. Hydra-Firm Gel Mask can alternatively be used as a 20-minute facial refresh according to your patient’s preference.
Clinical Results: Hydra-Firm Gel Mask
