How to Adjust Your Personal Skincare With the Seasons

There is no better feeling than having beautiful, healthy, glowing skin.  But when the weather changes, it can cause your skin to act awry, which can be so frustrating.  However, there is something you can do to help. Just like your wardrobe changes with the seasons, so should your skincare.  It doesn’t have to be complicated; a simple swap or slight variation in your skincare can make all the difference.

Seasonal changes or small variations in the climate can affect your skin.  Most likely, your skin tends to react during the transition from spring to summer and fall to winter.  That’s because the weather tends to move to more extreme conditions. This could manifest through dry, thirsty skin or even more breakouts.  But a simple fix such as more exfoliation or switching to a lighter moisturizer may be all it takes to get your glow back. It is important to pay attention to your skin during these seasonal changes so you can make the adjustments to your skincare before your skin is affected.  Let’s take a look at when you should modify your private label skincare in order to keep your skin looking healthy and radiant all year long.

Spring to Summer

Moving from spring into summer, your skin may start to become more sweaty and acne prone.  However, it still needs plenty of hydration. Switch to a white label skincare moisturizer that contains adaptogenic ingredients such as jojoba oil and gotu kola, which provides lightweight moisturization that’s better in the hotter months.  Products with aloe are also good in the summer months, because they have cooling and soothing properties. Cleansers that are light and balance oil on the skin are good because they don’t weigh heavy on the skin. Also, if you become more acne prone in the summer, try using a preventative treatment to keep blemishes at bay.

Fall to Winter

The all to winter transition can be just as challenging for the skin as the summer months.  As humidity decreases and the use of central heating increases, the skin can start to dry out.  You can add a serum, skin balm, or oil to your nighttime skincare routine for an added boost of hydration.  Medical grade skincare products that contain rich, soothing ingredients help with redness, irritation and drying of the skin that is caused by wind and cold weather.  Cream cleansers are great for extra hydration in the dryer, winter months. Paying close attention to your skin’s needs is very important. If you suffer from scaly, rough skin, you may need more emollients.  However, if your skin feels tight and thirsty, you should focus on more hydration.

If you feel overwhelmed at the idea of switching skincare products with the seasons, do not worry.  All it takes is a little attention and focus on your skin’s condition and some experimentation with the products you use, and you will make seasonal transitions a flawless, healthy and glowing experience for you and your skin.
